FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is this race run on a certified course?
Not yet.  This is a city-run race, and is not yet USATF certified.
  • How do I withdraw from the race or transfer my entry?
We understand that sometimes plans need to be changed.  Our withdraw policy allows you to withdraw from the race and get a full refund minus a small transaction fee.  Visit our withdraw page for more information.
  • How do I transfer between events or to another person?
Visit our transfer page if you want to transfer to a different race or to a different person.
  • Is race-day packet pickup available?
In order to ensure an on-time start, we encourage you to come pick up your packet during our office pickup hours, days before the race.  If you are not able to make it to the office during packet pick-up times, we will allow another individual to pick up your packet for you.  If you are from out of town, and no one can come pick up your packet for you, we will allow last-minute packet pick up at 7:00am on race day at the Parks and Recreation office.
  • Are there course time limits?
The half marathon course will remain open until 11:30 AM.  Any runners still on the course after that time will be considered pedestrians throughout the course duration.  To make it to the finish by this time, half marathon runners will need to average a 16:00 minute/mile pace.  This is equivalent to a very light jog, or brisk power walk.
All 5K participants still on the course after 10:00 AM will also be considered pedestrians.
Any participants still on the course after these cut off times may continue to proceed along the course route to the finish area, but aid station and traffic control will not be available.
  • What nutrition will be provided on the course?
All of our aid stations will be supplied with electrolyte fluids and water.  Additionally, some aid stations may be supplied with energy gu, gels or fruit.  Information regarding what is available at each station will be given in the Race Guide.
  • Are strollers allowed on the course?
Because of logistical issues, strollers are only permitted on the 5K course, and we ask that you line up in the back of the running pack to begin the race.  The amount of rocky trail along the half marathon route makes pushing a stroller impractical.
  • Are there prizes and awards for winners and age division placers?
All runners completing the half marathon will receive an amazing finisher's medal as they cross the finish line. Additionally, the top three finishers in each age division will receive a division ribbon.
The top male and female finishers for the half marathon will receive $100 each.  The top male and female finishers for the 5K will receive cash prizes, or gifts from our sponsors.
The awards ceremonies will take place at 10:00 AM for both races.
